Hello, and welcome to the kitchen.
Simmer & Salt started with a simple idea: cooking at home should feel easy, joyful and achievable — even on a busy Tuesday.
Every recipe here is written for real kitchens and real schedules. That means ingredients you can find at the supermarket, clear step-by-step instructions, and honest timings. Each one is cooked and re-cooked until it works every time.
Alongside our own recipes, we love bringing old classics back to life. Some dishes are inspired by public-domain cookbooks like Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management (1861) and Fannie Farmer's Boston Cooking-School Cook Book, and are rewritten from scratch for modern kitchens, ingredients and ovens.
Have a question about a recipe, or something you'd love to see on the site? I'd love to hear from you at hello@yourdomain.com.
